Approx 5-6 inches Across X 6-7 inches Tall (plus 12-27 inch twisted straw strap)
The shepherd's bag is the traditional lunch box of the young herd boys in Norther Ghana. Their lunch will often consist of a small piece of dried meat and some type of vegetable which they can conveniently carry by slinging this small bag over their shoulder. Weavers in the region use the abundant Veta vera grass to weave these useful baskets. The leather wrapped handle adds to the durability. Please note that if color looks black on your screen, it is actually a very, very dark blue. Easily reshape your basket by quickly submerging in water (keep leather dry), reshape by hand and hang to dry. Although we attempt to ship all baskets fully shaped, some baskets may need a bit of shaping when they arrive to you. Shipments outside of the continental US receive 'flattened' baskets.
