Approximately 14 inches Across X 8 inches Tall (plus handle)

Coming from the Bolgatanga region of Ghana, these baskets are traditionally used for carrying goods to and from the market. This style uses a new type of weave called an open weave or net weave style which is more difficult to create than the regular weave. Weavers in the region use the abundant grass to weave these incredibly hardy, useful baskets. The leather wrapped handle adds to the durability. Please note that if color looks black on your screen, it is actually a very, very dark blue. Easily reshape your basket by quickly submerging in water (keep leather dry), reshape by hand and let basket dry. Although we attempt to ship all baskets fully shaped, some baskets may need a bit of shaping when they arrive to you. Shipments outside of the continental US and via 2nd day air receive 'flattened' baskets.
