Approx 10 inches across X 10 inches deep, Plus 8 inch handles
Sisal is soaked and beaten to release the fibers. Then after twisting and sometimes dying, the fibers are woven into this useful shopper. Sisal fiber is incredibly durable and is now being used as a strenthening agent for industrial uses to replace harmful substances.

The women weavers are located in a rural area full of wildlife and are often visited by people on eco-safaris. The group is part of an organization that promotes responsible tourism in Kenya. The weavers are members of the International Federation for Fair Trade.
