Large Ndebele Beadwork

Approx 4 inches Across X 40 inches Tall
Hanging Size differs due to length of the hanging strands: Approx 4 inches Across X 44-48 inches Tall
The Ndebele are some of the best known beadworkers in Africa, having worked with beads for around 150 years. Along with the Zulu, who are also in South Africa, the Ndebele are known for their amazing beadwork. Geometric designs and colors can be interpreted by other Ndebele people. Each piece's design is unique to the exact beadworker and her family.
This is not done on a loom. Each bead is painstakingly, individually attached at a 45 degree slant in a very unique stitch invented by the Ndebele people and named for them as the Ndebele stitch.
This piece is a traditional wedding veil used by the bride during a wedding ceremony. It is worn pinned into the hair and draped over the center of the bride's face.
These are great to display by themselves on thin vertical spaces where nothing else seems to fit, or for even more impact, choose a pair or set and display them together on a larger wall.
You will receive this exact piece of beadwork.
